At some point prior to the series, Ramona had a child. It is uncertain whether that child survived.

Throughout the Series[]

Season 3[]

We first meet Ramona when Thony, upon being caught fleeing from a band of masked, motorcycle riding gangsters, asks to meet with "Sin Cara". She produces a medallion given to her by Arman. Ramona meets with Thony and learns of Arman's disappearance and Thony's search for him. Sensing Thony may prove useful, Ramona instructs her temperamental brother Jorge not to kill Thony.

Ramona quickly sizes Thony up as someone who may be useful to her, discreetly showing up at Thony's home and at a basketball game where Luca is playing. Upon learning she is a doctor, Ramona enlisted Thony to look after her health.

Eventually it is revealed that Jorge and Ramona are the brother and sister of Arman's father Eduoardo. Ramona had sought out her nephew for reasons that are never fully revealed in the season. She goes so far as to send Jorge after Nadia when she persists in looking for Arman. Eventually, she makes space for Arman at her home, luring Nadia in with the promise that when Arman is found, the two will come to live with her, Jorge, and Jorge's young daughter Violeta.

As the season progresses, it is revealed that Ramona is ill and believes herself to be dying, hence her need for Thony. Thony eventually discovers that Ramona has lead poisoning from a bullet that is still lodged in her body and removes it via surgery after being alerted to it by Jorge. After her recovery, Ramona learns that Arman is alive and sends Nadia to retrieve him. Unfortunately, the mission fails when the car carrying Arman drives off a cliff and bursts into flames leaving no survivors.

Later in the season, Ramona learns that Nadia has been making deals with the feds behind her back. Despite an attempt to flee, Nadia catches Ramona and stabs her to death in the desert, dumping her body on the door of Katherine Russo as a warning. An increasingly unstable Ramona has secretly made a contingency plan to kidnap her niece and flee the country, and has forged Jorge's signature on adoption papers claiming Violeta is her daughter.

Unaware that her empire is under threat, Ramona plans a gaming event, with proceeds going to charity. The FBI infiltrate the evening, and Ramona is arrested after Thony, Jorge and two workers from several of Ramona's front buisnesses identify key players in her schemes who then turn on her.

Season 4[]

Ramona begins the season as a new prison inmate, awaiting trial for Nadia's murder and her various other crimes. Initially, she is viewed as fresh meat and a target. She kills an addict inmate who recognizes her as Sin Cara. it is believed (though not confirmed on screen as of Le Medicin) that she managed to orchestrate the murder of Russo from behind bars.

Personality[]

Ramona is shrewd and cunning. She often holds philanthropic events to disguise her work as the shadowy, fearsome head of the Sin Cara cartel. She has many faces and can easily adopt a caring attitude around her younger brother and her young niece, Violeta, whom she adores.

Ramona dislikes any sign of weakness or disloyalty. She is quick to push aside even the slightest hints she may be ill when Jorge notices her inability to stop a tremor in her hand, despite Jorge knowing better.

She does not take any kind of betrayal lightly.

Relationships[]

Jorge Sanchez[]

Jorge is Ramona's younger brother, born around the same time as their nephew Arman. Ramona and Jorge have a close relationship. Despite being his older sister, she treats him more like her son. She was the one who paid for his education.

In House of Cards, Ramona is confronted by Jorge after he discovers she had forged documents saying she was the mother of his daughter Violeta and planned to take her away from him. He plans to kill her. However, she is arrested in an FBI sting instead of being killed.

Arman Morales[]

Arman is Ramona's late nephew, the son of her brother Eduardo. Ramona shares a deep familial bond with Arman, and spoiled him when he was young. Ramona was shown to be the original owner of the red Cadillac driven by Arman, which she eventually gave to him.

Nadia Morales[]

Nadia is Ramona's niece by marriage. After Arman's disappearance, Ramona tries to get close to Nadia. She offers to let Nadia stay with them for as long as she wishes while they search for Arman. She also idealistically hopes the couple will remain living with her while Arman recovers. She goes so far as to encourage Nadia to adopt one of the horses on their farm for therapy.

Unfortunately, the relationship sours when Arman dies and Ramona discovers Nadia tried to cut a deal with the feds. She executes Nadia personally by stabbing her with a dagger and dumping her body on Katherine Russo's doorstep.
