Background[]

Jorge is the younger brother of Ramona Sanchez, and the uncle of the late Arman Morales. Jorge and Arman were close in age, and were once extremely close with one another, but their relationship soured when Ramona and Jorge were pushed away from the family.

Jorge is a single father to a daughter named Violeta. His wife Vanessa died some time before his first appearance in the series. He appears to live with Ramona and Violeta.

Throughout the Series[]

Season 3[]

In Arman, Jorge is revealed to be the leader of a small gang of men on motorcycles chasing Thony as she attempts to meet with Sin Cara. He prevents the men from killing her and takes her to meet his sister Ramonawhen he realizes she has a talisman given to her by Arman.

Throughout season 3, Jorge questions Thony's presence in the cartel's infrastructure, but is able to do little to get her out of the way. The two have several encounters and he volunteers to help her find her sister in law and nephew who have been deported. He also discovers, with Thony's reluctant assistance, that the trafficking routes used by Sin Cara has been compromised. By the end of the season, however, the two work closely together.

Also a key in his story is his relationship with Ramona, who he eventually learns is ill.

Season 4[]

Personality[]

Jorge is a volatile and unpredictable man. By day, he is a powerful lawyer, but he is also a devoted henchman of the Sin Cara cartel until season 4 when he becomes Sin Cara. He doesn't trust easily, especially not when he's been betrayed by someone in the past. The only joy in his life is his young daughter Violeta, who he adores.

Relationships[]

Familial[]

Vanessa Sanchez[]

Vanessa was Jorge's wife. Not much is known about Vanessa, except that she was Violeta's mother and that she died some time before the beginning of season 4. He loved her deeply, as evidenced by the fact that he still wears her wedding ring on a chain around his neck. More about her life and death were revealed in the episode I Heard it Through the Grapevine.

Ramona Sanchez[]

Ramona is Jorge's older sister and also his boss within the Sin Cara cartel (until the events of the Season 3 two-part finale, Fight or Flight/House of Cards). Despite his love for his sister, Jorge has very different ideas about how to run the cartel, but has never been given the chance to implement them. This causes a discord between them.

Violeta Sanchez[]

Violeta is Jorge's young daughter, and his pride and joy. The two are shown to be extremely close, and he is incredibly loving and affectionate with her. At one point, he is shown declaring that "The princesss has arrived!", and scooping her into his arms when she gets home from school. He's also incredibly careful to shield her from any hints of his violent second life as the right hand of Sin Cara, even going so far as to scold Thony when she appears at Violeta's private school covered in blood after completing a job for the cartel to inform him it was done.

Friends/Allies[]

Thony De La Rosa[]

At first, Jorge does not at all trust her. He warns her not to default on the debt she owes to Sin Cara for sparing her life. He later admits to Ramona that he doesn't understand the reason for keeping Thony alive, saying that she's erratic and that "she should be buried in the desert by now." ("For My Son") Thony comes to Jorge for help to get her sister-in-law Fiona and nephew Chris back after their deportations, and the two forge an uneasy alliance. When Thony realizes that someone has compromised Sin Cara's trafficking routes, and that Arman has been kidnapped, she takes the information to Jorge. Despite Jorge's warnings, Thony inserts herself into the quest to find Arman. The two bond over their children and losing their spouses. Jorge attempts to convince Thony to walk away from their criminal lifestyle before it is too late.

Slowly, Thony begins to convince Jorge that he does not need Ramona.

Nadia Morales[]

When Jorge first meets Nadia, he has been sent by Ramona to warn her to end her search for Arman. When the family holds a wake for Arman, Jorge reveals he understands Nadia's grief and briefly attempts to console her. ("Velorio"). In a later episode, Jorge and Nadia meet at La Habana, where they work together to blackmail a judge. They also make a plan for a new business venture with Nadia as the face of the company. ("From the Ashes")
